He has passed M.Sc. in 1979 from Burdwan University. He has a certificate in foreign language (French) in 1990 from Patna University. He has been awarded "Fellowship" in Indian Society for Malaria and other communicable Diseases (F.I.S.C.D.). Obtained training from different courses and workshop.
* WHO - sponsored inter country workshop on control of
V. Leishmaniasis in 1986 in Patna.
* ICMR workshops of scientific communication in Bio-medicine at Patna in 1987.
* WHO Govt. of India sponsored national workshop on V.L. at Patna where state Health
service doctors were trained in two phases in 1989.
* UNICEF sponsored Trainer's Training program ( Workshop ) at Patna in 1991 and trained
Medical personnel at Endemic foci.
* NMEP (GOI) sponsored "orientation training in V.L through PHC", in Patna in
1997.
* IBSC meeting with DST & other experts in 1998 and 1999 (Under the aegis MINS.
Environ & Forest).
* "Resource Person " in WHO/ICMR workshop on " Integrated Control of
VL" at Patna in 1999.
* Trained in "Remote sensing" & "GIS" for evaluating epidemic
prediction tools in ISRO (RRSSC, KGP,W.B & IIRS,Dehradun) in 1996 & 2000.

Started research carrier as Research Fellow in school of Tropical Medicine, Calcutta, in 1981. Worked as Research officer(project) in ICMR at Patna in 1985. Joined as a Research officer (Entomology) at Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna under I.C.M.R in 1986.Since then working and involved in various vector bionomics, disease epidemiology including molecular and control oriented research project including deseriltive, transmission, intervention and operational research studies related to Visceral Leishmaniasis, in rural as well as urban area. In all these Research projects active involvement was either as Principal investigator/co-investigator for formulation , planning,implementation, supervision, analysis and report writing at the project work. Carried-out investigation of out-break in kala-azar in hyper endemic foci at Nibihar and eastern U.P. and Nepal to find out the Causative agent,source and nature of infection along with probable control/ remedial measures suggested to state Govts.
