Educational Qualification 

1) Passed M.B.B.S in 1984 from Calcutta University, Calcutta, INDIA. Passed M.D. in Community Medicine (Preventive & Social Medicine) in 1989 from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, INDIA.

Professional Experience

1) Worked as Research Officer (Epidemiology) at National Institute of Cholera & Enteric Diseases, Calcutta, India since September, 1989 till April, 1992.  Conducted a survey to estimate the number of Sex workers and their risk behaviour regarding transmission of HIV/AIDS in an urban community of Andaman & Nicobar Islands by rapid assessment method.

Work Done

Conducted epidemic investigations of `multi-drug resistant Bacillery dysentery in a tea garden’ and `Dengue fever in a rural village’ of West Bengal.. Presently engaged in a HIV/AIDS as a full-time researcher under Indian Council of Medical Research. Currently  estimating the HIV load in different risk groups of West Bengal and their risk behaviour associated with HIV infection.
