Age : 52 years.

His field of specialization is diarrhoeal diseases' management and control. He has published 90 research papers. Dr. Bhattacharya is also a member of the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Paediatrics. Dr. Bhattacharya visited the Clinical Science Division at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Diseases Research, Bangladesh between August, 1994 to April, 1996 and attended the Summer Epidemiology Programme in HIV epidemiology at John Hopkins University, USA between 6th June to 3rd July, 1999.
