Ranajit Kumar M. Sc., Ph.D.,
Date Of Birth: 31st December, 1943, joined NICED, Kolkata in 2nd June, 1984.
Age : 63 years.
His field of specialization is microbial genetics and Dr.Kumar has been the Ph.D. supervisor of seven students till date.He has published 40 research papers so far and has applied for a patent on the process of biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons. Dr.Kumar is also a research project coordinator of Shigella research group of the institute. Dr.Kumar has worked as a post doctoral fellow in the University of Medicine and Dentistry at New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, USA about four years and was a Visiting scientist at Michigan State University, USA during 1994. He will be visited Poland for weeks in the month of August, 2001under INDO-PAS Scientist Exchange Programme.
