Date  of Birth 30^th  November, 1965, Joined NICED, Kolkata on 14^th February, 2003.

Age : 41 years.

His field of specialization  is  microbiology and molecular biology to understand the pathophysiological, immunological, and molecular biological aspects of  Vibrio cholerae in relation to its molecular mechanism of pathogenesis and nature of protective antigens. He was able to generate new information to establish serological and phenotypic difference  between V. cholerae organisms  belonging to O1, 0139 and non – 01 non – 0139 sergroups. He also contributed significantly towards the development of a PCR  based diagnostic technique for the rapid identification of  V. cholerae. Some of these results have already been and are being published in international  journals of repute. His affiliations include membership of Society of Biological Chemists (India).
