Her field of specialization is microbiological and epidemiological aspects of enterobacteriaceae with special emphasis on Shigella and Escherichia coli. She has published twenty papers national and international journals. Her affiliations include life membership of Association of the Medical Microbiologists of India and Society of Biological Chemists, India, Association of Microbiologists, India. Dr. Dutta was selected to participate in the advanced WHO course on immunology, vaccinology, biotechnology and biosafety as applied to infectious diseases held in Laussane, Geneva, Switzerland and Annecy, France in 1996. She was one of the Expert Committee members for evaluation of H2S strip test for drinking water analysis jointly sponsored by UNICEF and Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission Govt. of India.Her biographical profile has been selected for publication in the 6th Edition of Who's Who in science and engineering 2002-2003 published by Marquis Who's Who, USA. She has been selected as RONPAKU Fellow for JFY 2001 by Japan Society of Promotion of Science under the JSPS PONPAKU Dissertation Ph.D. Programme. She is selected to participate in WHO advanced training program on " Immunology. Vaccinology Biotechnology, Biosaftyapplied to infectious diseases ." held in Lausanne, Switzerland.
She was awarded with RONPAKV Fellowship of JSPS ( Japanese Society for Promosion of Seience ) from Dept. of Science and Technology, Govy of India from 2001 to 2005 and conferred with Ph.D degreee in Medical Science under Kyushu University, Japan in 2005.
