| His
thesis research focused of post transcriptional
modification of ribosomal RNA in enteric parasites
and role of snRNA-protein complex in rRNA biogenesis
in parasites . He has developed a new confocal
microscope based technique namely " antisense
molecular beacon based Fluorescence Rescoance
Energy Transfer (FRET) " for RNA - protein
interaction studies in vivo. He worked as a
Postdoctoral Research Faculty in the Department of
Pathology , saint Louis University School of
Medicine, Saint Louis, USA with Professor George L.
Eliceiri in the field of ribosome biogenesis and
snoRNA - protein interaction. He was awarded Young
Scientist Award by Canada. His thesis research and
postdoctoral experience produced several publications
including a Cover Page photograph in and
International Journal .
His major
present focus is on the molecular analyses of rRNA
biogenesis, mechanism of its formation and its use
as a drug target in Giardiasis , an enteric
binucleate parasite in human intestine. Other
enteric parasites (eg. Entamoeba, Cryptosporidium,
Cyclospora) are also interest of his study.
